A Simple Lag Putting Drill

This may rival the simplest drill in golf history. Visualize putting that ball on that towel. That's it.

We will three putt! But we can work on our lag putting with this super simple drill.

Let’s face it, three putting will never be washed from a golfers vocabulary…ever. But we can work on taking the stress out of lag putting with this simple drill. Being able to see “visualize” where your putt needs to finish is a lot easier that needing it to finish in the cup.

This may be the simplest drill in golf history. Visualize putting that ball on that towel. That’s it.

I am going to try a variation of this by having the narrow part of the towel in line with the putt to work on Distance & Line at the same time.

Great drill, once you get the hang of it you can add some fun and even contest with your buddies with it.

    from 20 feet
    10 points if holed
5 points if on the towel

    can even add deductions like…
-2 if normal short (less than putter grip length) or beyond the towel
-4 super short (putter grip length or more)

high score for 10 putts wins

now if we could just get them to make the hole the size of a towel we would really have something 🙂
