How do those hop n tap exercises translate into improved golf footwork?

Same as above – You make a conclusion that does not translate into using your exercise into striking the golf ball. It sounds nice ……. but how exactly. What are the mechanics behind this to improve my swing and/or impact?

I think you are great – you have excellent descriptions of what you do and they all seem very good Thank you

I have had knee replacements. Will these be OK to do and not hurt my knees.

I have done these with many clients with knee or hip replacements with no problems. But as always, discomfort is ok, pain is not. Let your body be your guide.

    Stan and Duane,
Thanks for your comments. There is a direct correlation (TPI just did a great study on it) between how high you can jump and how far you can hit a golf ball. To be able to jump high, you need to understand what it feels like to be light and explosive on your feet. These drills are training the body to not only be explosive, but to work on fast twitch muscles and coordination, two things that help a bit in golf. If I put a client thru these and they are landing heavy, rebounding slowly, and getting tangled up in their feet, I can all but guarantee they have sloppy footwork in their golf swing. One reason you see players like Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas doing ladder work that looks like it was designed for wide receivers. Let me know if you have any other questions on these guys. Cheers! -Mark
