Hit Up With Your Driver

Launch the ball higher

Hey Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX… get some extra launch with some extra launch…in today’s video.

It is common knowledge that producing an upward swing into the ball is going to create a higher launch angle which in turn should produce longer drives. This isn’t theory, this is science.

Here is a simple drill to help you visualize hitting up on the ball at impact.

Tee your ball up
Place a second ball 12 inches or so in front
Hit shots without hitting the 2nd ball
This is going to force you to come into the ball with an upward swing

Now obviously we don’t want to launch the ball too high. We’re not hitting lob wedges, we’re hitting bombs. But the idea is that we do not want to hit down on the ball when it comes to driving the ball. We want to get that thing airborne.

Until next time, keep it simple

    Colby,

I recently was fitted with a stealth 2 driver with an upright setting 9 degrees …

Compared to my Taylor made RBZ drover HL standard loft setting. 14 years old

What do you believe i can expect from the new driver?…lower trajectory and MORE ROLL?

    Colby,
Hit up with your drover series.

I recently was fitted with a Stealth 2 driver upright setting 9 degrees.

My 14 year old driver Taylor Made RBZ HL standard setting.

What do you believe i can expect from the new driver with the current setting?/ Lower trajectory and More Roll?
