Build a Pre-Shot Routine You Can Trust

Great golf starts before you swing. Quite the Chap shares a simple pre-shot checklist designed to build consistency, sharpen focus, and help you stay calm when the pressure is on.

Watch Quite the Chap demonstrate a repeatable pre-shot routine you can take to the course.

4 Steps to a More Consistent Pre-Shot Routine

1. Pick a Specific Target

Choose a precise target in the distance. Give every shot a clear destination before you step into your setup.

2. Find a Closer Reference Point

Identify a spot roughly 12 inches in front of your ball, directly along your intended target line. Use it as your alignment reference.

3. Step Into the Shot

Move into your address position. Look from your close target to your distant target, then repeat: close, far, close, far.

4. Use Your Trigger and Swing

Finish with a consistent trigger that signals it's time to swing. Quite the Chap uses a forward press of his hands. Find a trigger you can repeat on every shot.

Build the routine deliberately. Repeat it until it becomes automatic. Under pressure, trust the same process that you've practiced.
