Warm Up Before Your First Swing

Your pre-round stretches should get you moving. The Golf Yogi shares three simple ways to warm up your hips and spine before you head out to play.

Follow along with The Golf Yogi—then try these moves before your next round.

Three Stretches to Get Moving Before Your Round

1. Wide-Leg Seated Reach

Sit with your legs comfortably apart. Lean forward gently and shift from side to side, reaching toward each leg within a comfortable range.

2. Butterfly Movement

Bring the soles of your feet together and sit tall. Gently move your knees and rock forward from your hips, keeping your back long.

3. Windshield Wipers

Lie on your back with your knees bent and together. Slowly rock your knees from side to side, keeping your shoulders grounded.

Save the long, relaxed holds for recovery. Before you play, keep your movements gentle and controlled without forcing the stretch.
