Stomp Your Heel For Better Weight Transfer

A simple drill for moving your weight to your lead side

Hey Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX…transfer your weight…in today’s video

Chunks and thins often come from not transferring our weight properly. We get back here and we can’t get over here so we try to lift the ball in the air…you’re going to hit that super thin. Or we try and go down after it and we end up folding a divot over our ball. A pro that i work with, Gordon Mink, has this great drill to combat all of that.

Take your address position
Lift your front heel
Take the club to the top of your backswing
Stomp your heel down as you start your downswing
Your weight is transferred and you can come through the ball

We need to get our weight onto our lead side if we want to make solid contact and compress the ball like the pros. Stomp that front heel to start the downswing and you’ll have no problems transferring your weight.

Until next time, keep it simple

I just tried out the drill. It works. I may use it on all my iron shots on the course!
