Control Your Putter Speed

Deceleration is a sure way to ruin your putt. It closes the putter face just enough to send even the shortest putts wide of the mark.

This is my number 1 killer in putting I am always short especially on 10+footers. I thought it was because my putter head was too light so I will pay particular attention to speeding through my follow through, Thanks for the hint.

I always decide what my putt will be, uphill or down, green speed. They I give it 2 numbers. Always one more number higher on the follow thru. For instant a flat putt from 6 feet is a 1-2. Back one forward two. A long one from 60 feet is a 4-5. I’m always right there with the distance and never decelerate with that system.

That’s great, Mike. Sounds like a solid system- keep it up!

how about a video teaching us about the effects of wind velocity on ball flight and distance; an easy way on the course to access wind velocity without an anemometer (i had to look this one up!). sje
