String and Weight

Check out this one drill that will make your swing oh-so-silky-smooth. And the best part is, you can do in the comfort of your own home!

In today’s video, you’ll learn how to become a silky smooth putter. The best part is one you can do it from the comfort of your own home.

Smooth Putter

All you need is a putter, a length of string, and some weight.

Watch the video, and I’ll explain how to generate a smooth stroke and not that herky-jerky one.

You’ll also learn how to stop decelerating thru the ball. This promotes a stroke and not a hit, which is vital for consistently solid contact.

Again, the best part is you don’t need a putting green. You don’t need a hole. You don’t need a golf ball.

All you need is a putter, a length of string, and some weight.

In the video with the string and weight to promote a silky smooth stroke, are you holding onto the string or attaching the string to the putter? Thanks for another way to help me get through another CT winter!!!

Length of the string should be as close to the floor as possible without hitting the floor. A shorter string will increase the stroke speed.

One end of the string is tied to the weight the other end of the string is just held in the hand against the bottom side of the grip.

Wow, after looking at the questions about the where the string is attached, I have to assume that lateral thinking or ‘the bleeding obvious’was not a strong suit with these folk.
