Hip mobility is a must for golfers of every skill, whether you’re a weekend warrior or a seasoned pro. The more mobile our hips are the more consistent we’ll be able to strike the ball, the further we’ll be able to hit the ball, and more importantly the longevity we’ll have in this game.

This video is going to take you through a few hip stretches that progress from moderate to deep. Over time you should be able to go deeper and deeper into these stretches but make sure you progress from the first stretch to the last. Awesome stuff thank you for posting. I started practicing yoga to augment my martial arts training 15 yrs ago.
I started playing golf 4yrs ago, for me mobility and performance are closely related.

When it comes to Pigeon pose is it more important to have the shin 90 degrees or to be able to lay out flat? I can lay out flat with no issues, but I cannot get the shin even close to 90 degrees. Are there other stretches that would help with the shin getting to 90 degrees?

    Thanks for any info.

P.S. Didn’t realize you worked with Martin Chuck. Makes me wish i could make it to Arizona for one of his seminars and get to work with both of you.

Your videos are ridiculous! I’m 67 years old and there is no possible way I could ever do even the simple techniques you show. I think you are showing off your flexability more than helping the average golfer.

Dale, I am 62 and can do them just fine. You have to start somewhere. If you have not been stretching all along it will take some time. Start small for 10-15 seconds

I’m in the same boat as George, Love your videos, but having had knee replacement five years ago, it would be great if you could suggest how to modify these stretches for those of us with knee replacement.
