A smooth putting stroke is so nice to see. It’s probably even nicer to experience, so let’s try and develop one today.
Smooth Putting
Hey, Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX. Know what a smooth putting stroke looks like? Me neither…in today’s video.
A key aspect of a smooth putting stroke is that it looks effortless. It’s simply a stroke that goes back and through without any hiccups…like decelerating, popping, hitting, yipping.
– Find a flat spot on the putting green
– take a measuring tape and stretch it out to 12 inches
– place the ball at the six in mark
– make your stroke, so it goes to the 12-inch mark and accelerates all the way through to the end of the tape
What we’re trying to do here is make sure that we’re not adding any extra unneeded fluff in our backstroke and making sure that we have enough gas to get us through to finish the stroke. Back six inches – through six inches.
It’s a simple premise. Focus on those 12 inches. You won’t have time to focus on whether you’re making a good putting stroke or not.
