Launch Monitor And Distance Control

You know what you know...and it should be your carry distances

To help develop your approach shots’ precision distance control, you need to figure out your average carry for each club.

Go through your bag and hit about 5-10 shots that you feel good about with each club.  Swing Caddie launch monitor tracks the averages for you. Write them down.

Now grip down a full inch (I measure from my top thumb) and go through the same routine.

Now everyone’s different, but I think you’ll find that if you’re making the same swing, that one inch is equal to about 6 to 9 yards less in carrying distance.

Remember these numbers when you’re in between clubs.  This will help your distance control.

And the easiest way to really know if your adjustments are working is to measure your APEX, which is why we love the Swing Caddie 300 Portable Launch Monitor. Their newest – the SC300 – has an APEX measurement feature, so you will know exactly how high your ball flies with each club and consequent adjustment.

But you can also choose from any of the Swing Caddie Launch monitors that most fit your practice style and take advantage of our great savings.
