Coordinate Your Hand-Eye Coordination

Hand-eye coordination can help hitting those crispy low spinners!

Hey, Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX. (juggling) Hand-eye coordination is not just for the carnival folk…it also helps your golf game…in today’s video, How to improve Golf Hand-Eye Coordination.

We hear the golf analysts and commentators talk about so and so has great hand-eye coordination, and we’re like, if I just had better golf hand-eye coordination, they’d be talking about me that way.

It is probably not, but that shouldn’t discourage us from improving our hand-eye coordination, which will help us hit crispy low spins and such.  Consider this drill an Eye exercise for golf.

Golf Hand-Eye Coordination

Super simple:

  • take a piece of tape,
  • lay it across your hitting mat, or rug…but not the good one,
  • take a chipping or pitching set up,
  • try and hit the tape,
  • you want to hear the club hitting the tape,
  • now, put a ball down directly in front of the tape,
  • focus on hitting the tape…not the ball.

Hand-eye coordination 101. Solid Contact Golf.  This golf drill, where you don’t really need to hit any balls, is a great way to practice hitting those crisp pitch and chip shots. I don’t know about you, but I get goosebumps just thinking of hitting a crispy low spinner.

This golf tip will teach you how to make consistent contact with the golf ball?

When I hit an iron or fairway wood off of a tee, I make great contact, beautiful ball flight, right at the target (I have three hole-in-ones and several almost), but lately when I hit long irons or fairway woods off the ground, I very often hit thin or fat (not with my short irons, though). I’m a pretty good analyst of my swing but this has me perplexed. If it’s relevant, I’m 85 and have shot my age many times each year since I was 75.
