Smart Golf can save you strokes and lower your score. Do you play smart Golf? Why not?
Hey, Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX. Does it go left or right? Is it weak or over-the-top strong? How to use whatever it is you hit…in today’s video.
Smart Golf
When I’m playing, I usually play for a small 5-yard draw. If I don’t hit that draw, my miss is usually a block out to the right. I know this from experience, and so I can pick spots to favor my miss.
Take this hole, for example:
– Long is dead
– Right is so dead
– And well, left is dead
– Youch
But short left is not dead, and in fact, if you hit it here, the ball should trundle down onto the green. Because of that, my play would be to take one less club, aim it a little left of the pin and make a fully committed swing.
– If I block it, it should end up here
– Hit it a little too far left, I don’t have enough club to get here, and it should kick down to here
– It should land right about here if I hit it great
Play Smarter Golf. I’m playing this hole with my misses in mind. It’s called Smart Golf or “avoiding the big number,” If you want to break 90, you need to stop making big numbers.
