Bunker Drill Throw Sand

Ok, so most of us will never be able to bomb it like Bryson, but anyone of us can dial in our short game and lower our scores with proper fundamentals and lots of practice. This is especially true in the bunker, so for this bunker drill throw sand.

A mistake most amateurs make in the sand trap is decelerating through impact. This is a BIG no-no in the bunker. You literally want to throw the sand out of the bunker in the direction you want the ball to go. For instance, the best way to instill this feeling is to start without a ball and practice accelerating through the hitting zone and throwing the sand out of the bunker. Watch as Mr. Short Game demonstrates.

And if you want to enhance your short game further, don’t neglect your putting.

The Groove Putting Mirror from Eyeline is exactly what you need for dramatic putting improvement.

Pros and amateurs alike rely on this great aid.

This is all so easy being able to play in good, soft, fluffy sand conditions like these, try to do the same thing playing in the types I play in where the sand is mostly dirt , sometimes weeds, and always hard packed or wet. When I encounter these nice types of traps, it seems so easy. No wonder the pros are so good, they don’t ever have anything but the best green, and sand conditions to practice and play on. A training aid for the lousy sand traps I play on would be more helpful!!

Love that shot from behind the flag. While I know your tip is demonstrating the way to play a bunker shot, I find it beneficial to see where the shots are landing, how they’re rolling out and where they end up. Use that behind the flag view on some of your pitches and chips too.
