Stop The Early Cast AND Your Slice

Stop Slicing. Stop Pulling. Use a wall!

Do you know what Casting in Golf is?  Do you know how to stop casting Golf?

Hey, Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX. I don’t fish, but I know that an early cast is not a good cast and that this sentence is really just a bunch of gibberish. Stop the early cast in your golf swing…in todays’ video.

Casting in Golf

I don’t know much about fishing, but I do know that an early cast in your golf swing isn’t going to hook you anything good…it’ll most likely lead to a nice fishy slice. I’m sorry for all the fish talk. Here is a great drill that’s going to stop all of this, stop Casting in Golf.

Find a wall
take your set up, so the wall is off your front foot
Take the club back
And as you bring it down into impact, rotate your hips towards the wall
Stick the butt end of the club up against the wall

Do this a handful of times to get the feeling rotating and stopping the cast

Now obviously, this is an exaggeration of your golf swing coming into impact.  But what we’re trying to do is create that feeling of holding off releasing the club before we have to. There are a few benefits to this drill: straighter shots and longer shots, both really nice things to add to your golf game.

Until next time keep it simple.

How can I teach myself to keep my head down on my swing? I have the habit of lifting my head in the middle of my swing.

Keep up the great work– love the humor and self deprecation! Good non- casting drill! Wish it were not 114 degrees in Vegas today (temp, not my score thankfully) but I will try it later under the trees in my back yard! 🙂

Enjoy the comment from the young lady above. I am 88, still trying to play golf. Almost shot my age again last month, missed by one.
