LIVEVIEW – Stop Swaying In Your Golf Swing

Stop swaying in your golf swing with this simple drill

Stop Swaying.  The sway is not good. My center of gravity has gone from here to here, which means my club will probably bottom out here if I don’t get back to here…which requires perfect timing.

Stop Swaying in your Golf Swing

Quick and simple drill, one of our anti-sway Golf drills.  Take your headcover and put it on the outside of your back foot…creating a wedge. Make your regular swings making sure you don’t roll over onto the headcover.

What you’re doing is maintaining your center and rotating, but you’re also loading your swing into the inside of your back leg.

With the Liveview, I create two posts on my monitor and stay within the lines.

It’s that simple to stop sliding in your golf swing. I know, the idea of practicing your golf swing in front of a mirror is probably almost as old as golf.

The self-awareness that comes from seeing yourself – and connecting the objective image with a kinetic feeling – is invaluable in accelerating and re-enforcing the learning of a new skill and stop swaying.

is it against the rule to put a headcover under your foot when playing or is it something we can only do on the range? Is that considered ‘creating a stance’?

    Rule 8.1a Actions not allowed
Move a loose implement ( in this case a head cover) or movable obstruction into position ( such as to build a stance )

Yes Ed. This is simply just to practice. Definitely not for the course during play. Good Reminder.. thank you!

I find bending the left knee forward on the backswing keeps me rigid ,. No sway, my weight is still on the right foot, and then my weight is transferred too the left foot on the downswing keeps me shooting straight and strong.!
